Bart Scott of the New York Jets hired me to build him the worlds largest his & her banquettes!

We start off with the drawings I received from Bart above. This regal shape banquette consisted of diamond tufted diamond buttons with a overall gold leaf shape. Each unit would have a towering height of about 10 feet, a 36 inch depth and about 12 feet wide each. Where do we start?

The first step was outlining the unit and determining what type of mounting would provide a long-term stationary fixture that can be unmounted for maintenance in the future. The second step was to use different type of framing methods to strengthen the entire unit as a whole when installed. While framing there was a thought of making sure that this unit was squeak free in case of any extra curricular activities so I used adhesive in conjunction with metal fasteners.

Installing the foam was also vital to the comfort of the unit as well as making sure the finish product was also attractive to the eye when comfort was is no longer a concern. In this case, I layered the foam with different densities where applicable but always leaning to a firm feel for a long-term comfort rejuvenating use.

Proper planning especially in the framing where everything interlocks allowed a smooth two man delivery and install.

Walla! Mrs. Scott added glass mosaic tables which is barely shown in this picture was but also uplifted the décor. Thanks Mr. & Mrs. Scott for the work and opportunity!
